For my first computer experiment, I took these two photographs and decided to put them together to make a composite.
I put them together and got rid of one of the backgrounds as it wasn't necessary to the image. I then made the layers set to darken so that they would both appear.

This was the end result.

The effect of this edit is that it now displays more motion. You can see how Hades is jumping up onto her shoulders, You can also see how Carol has been pushed back towards the wall as Hades is a big dog and she wasn't expecting him to jump up on her. So with this composite, it now displays motion better, but it also shows the idea i had in mind better. This was the idea that as dogs come in all shapes and sizes, we come across many dogs that are very large. These dogs depending on their temperament may be hard to control, very excitable or could be big friendly giants. Hades is the second kind. But in the photo you can see how the force of him jumping had made Carol recoil and the force has pushed her backwards, as you can see her head and back have moved between the photographs. By creating the composite image I have emphasised motion so that the viewer can more easily feel the force of the dog as he jumps towards the worker. This should illustrate them more clearly the control required and bravery involved by the worker when working with different types of powerful dogs.
Two

For this photograph I decided to use the levels to increase the brightness of the photograph so
Sampson and Carol would be more easily distinguishable. Then to try and represent exactly how much Sampson wasn't a fan of this experience, I added a cooling filter as at that moment he didn't have the warmest feelings for Carol.

Three

For this photograph, I edited out some of the marks on the floor so that those wouldn't distract the viewer, and then I added a black and white filter. I then changed the filters opacity to 57%. This still gave the effect I wanted without erasing all of the colour completely. What I wanted to do was to portray how this dog, Buster, came in in a bad shape. This eye cleaning wasn't due to a random eye infection that came out of nowhere. The condition he came in may have been from neglect. No one had been caring for him and so his eyes became very gunky, full of unpleasantness and sometimes they were obstructing his vision. His skin was bad, with hair loss and a skin scrape had to be done in case he had mange. This black and white filter shows more of a sincere image which will provoke a lot more emotion in the viewer, as they imagine us having to do a job that someone may have neglected to do, causing it to get to this point. The image also highlights the caring aspect of the worker in helping a dog recover and underlines her skill working with powerful dogs.

Four

The change here is quite subtle. I increased the brightness very slightly on the volunteer, Carol, as although it can be clearly seen the job she is doing, I wanted to show the volunteer that was doing it a little more, as against the wall she seemed to be in the darkness.
Five

For this photoshop, I selected the kennels and the wall, and then decreased the brightness. This left the middle, where Carol is emphasised. The lights help lead the viewers eye to her, as does the path. I also got rid of the fire extinguisher. In this image, there's more focus on Carol, and the work that she's doing. It also highlights the path she must squeegee.
