One

To make this composite image I combined three photographs and simply adjusted the layers. One layer I kept normal, another I changed to multiply and the last I changed to hard light. This created an effect where the photos looked as though they were in motion. You can see Digby running up to her, and can also see him giving his paw to Paula. This composite shows both the playing and exercise side of their work by Digby coming to her with his legs poised mid motion, and through the images being put together. It also shows the training side, by Paula only throwing the ball once Digby has given a paw. The training makes him seem smarter and so he looks better to potential owners and so training is a vital part of the work done at the shelter.
Two
I decided to do another photoshop with this photo
I wanted to focus more attention on them...
.

...so I went onto photoshop to make the background black and white. There are a few ways to do this on photoshop, but I decided to have two layers of the image, one in colour, one in black and white, and then I deleted the background from the original layer.
This resulted in:
.
This edit means that the background isn't as distracting, and they aren focused on the interaction between Hades and Carol. Also, it can show that they are both in their own worlds when they are with each other, as they are isolated from the outside world. This further emphasises the relationship that these two share. Additionally, the idea of them being in their own world conveys the naturalness of the photo as they are unaware of my presence as they're focused on each other.
Three
For this image, I had the same intentions as the previous edit. I wanted more attention to be focused on Carol and the morning's meals in her hands.
So I made the background black and white, and decreased the opacity so it wasn't as obvious.
Four

For this image, I made the area outside of Paula and underneath her arm black and white. This emphasises the way she has framed Hades by bracing her arm on the wall for support.
Five

For this photograph, I made a circle around Paula and Heka, making the rest of the photo slightly black and white. Then I made a bigger circle around the and made the rest slightly more black and white. Then I selected the hole in the fence I took the photo through and made the rest of the photo fully black and white. This created an effect that focuses a lot more attention on Paula and Heka, and it seems as though their emotions together are pulsing into their surroundings. Also, the circles shown look like an eye, with a pupil, iris and the gap being the entire eye. This is in contrast to Heka's eyes, which can be seen as he is turned slightly towards Paula. You can see the fur where his eye should be. It is possible he doesn't have any eyes at all, either by birth or someone abusing him and taking them out, but he is definitely blind. So the symbolism of this photoshop contrasts Heka's situation.
